Who is it for: Individuals over 18 years old with at least one year of experience in contemporary dance technique, who want to explore movement exploration, delve into emotional processes, and primarily dance and perform on stage.
Course Information:
Hakvutza Ensemble, led by Omer Uziel—dancer, choreographer, contemporary dance teacher, and therapist—is a framework for creation and performance through contemporary dance. It is designed for dancers with prior experience in contemporary dance and a passion for exploring, creating, and deepening their practice beyond technique.
In the ensemble, we will expand and deepen movement material while experiencing both personal and collective creative processes. We will seek physical ways to express ideas, emotions, dreams, and fantasies, exploring how personal material transforms into a stage performance. Through curiosity, presence, and listening, we will learn, play, deconstruct, and reconstruct movement material via collaborative creative work—discovering the full potential of contemporary dance as a tool for expression, communication, and creation.
During the program, there will be sessions with guest artists: two masterclasses with Anat Katz, and two with Benjamin Yom-Tov / Meyrav Dagan.
The program includes two dance performances throughout the year and two “Chasfiyot” (open studio showings).
