The Group in Jaffa

Ensemble and an independent school for contemporary dance which has been running for the past seven years.the first Dance School in Israel which invites both inexperienced and experienced students. A wide variety of experienced teachers will be teaching in the 2007-8 school year. These teachers have acquired knowledge and experience both in Israel and abroad (Japan, Hungary, France, Holland, Italy, India, USA, Belgium) in a variety of modern dance styles

The Full Study Program

This program is for both experienced and inexperienced dancers who are willing to devote themselves to at list 3 times a week to study and experience various fields in contemporary dance: contact- improvisation, yoga, classic and various fields of performance arts.

Other Study Programs

In addition to the 'full study program' and the 'Ensemble study program' there are three 'one-day' programs: Monday - 5 hours improvisation and contact program, Monday & Friday - three technique classes for experienced dancers, Friday - contemporary dance for beginners - Semester program. for more details....

Open Classes

Daily and evening classes for both experienced and inexperienced students. Unlike the other school programs, participating in 'open classes' does not require an early enrollment nor does it require a long term commitment. Enrolment can be done per class or by purchasing in advance a 10 classes discounted card.

Varying Workshops

Various workshops are open to school students as well as to anyone who is passionate about movement and dance. These workshops will be led by School staff, dancers and choreographers outside the school and artists from abroad.

School students are awarded with a student card from the Israeli student union.
Contact and improvisation jam sessions take place the first Saturday evening of every month.
“The Group in Jaffa” school is located on 109 Kedem St. Jaffa, inside the Arabic- Jewish Community Center, next to 142 Yefet St.

Among “The Group in Jaffa” guests artists were: Imanuel Gariba (France), Nigel Charnok (England), Steve Bats (Ireland), Karl Frost (Canada).
Participating in all school programs require medical certificate approval.
Admission fee is 300 ₪ to all school programs.
“The Group in Jaffa” drinks only Fare-Trade coffe!
“The Group in Jaffa” holds a physical therapist as part of school's staff.
